National Indigenous Peoples Day

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The Canadian Constitution recognizes these three groups as Aboriginal peoples, also known as Indigenous peoples.

Terry Fox Day

The first Monday in August is celebrated as "Terry Fox Day" in honour of athlete and cancer research activist Terry Fox, who was born in Winnipeg in 1958.

Peace Days Walk

On September 15, 2023, the 10th annual peace walk with elementary students will be held at the CN Stage at the Forks and will include a walk inside the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Provincial Election Day

The provincial general election is scheduled to take place on October 3, 2023.  There are several issues before Manitobans this election year; however, education must be a key priority.
