National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The day honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30.

MTS SAGE Day

The Special Area Groups of Educators affiliated with The Manitoba Teachers’ Society are organizations of educators in specific fields. They offer professional development, camaraderie and a forum to share ideas and insights. Special Area Group conferences and workshops present the best ideas from the brightest minds in teaching.

National Child Day

National Child Day is celebrated in Canada on November 20 in recognition of our country’s commitment to upholding the rights of children and two historic events: the 1959 signing of the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.
