    Provincial General Election - October 3, 2023

    The provincial general election is scheduled to take place on October 3, 2023. There are several issues before Manitobans this election year; however, education must be a key priority. MSBA is encouraging voters to learn more about the reasons why, whether you have children in the school system or not, you should care about Election 2023.

    Visit MSBA's dedicated webpage to learn more about why education matters, and by asking the right questions, voters can make an informed decision regarding the future of education in Manitoba.

    Fall General Meeting - November 23 & 24, 2023

    Online registration opens on October 3 for the 2023 Fall General and Regional Meetings to be held November 23 & 24 at the Victoria Inn & Conference Centre in Winnipeg. Trustees and administrators are requested to register through their secretary-treasurer’s office. 

    A room block has been set aside at the conference hotel for delegates.  When booking, please ask to reserve a room in the MSBA group block – group #252481 to access the discounted rate. This rate is available until October 22 so book early, if possible.

    National Healthy Schools Week - Oct. 2 to 6, 2023

    The inaugural  National Healthy Schools Week is October 2-6, 2023. This week-long initiative is meant to be tailored to your unique school community, giving you the opportunity to identify opportunities most relevant in your context. 

    The Canadian Healthy Schools Alliance is a Canada-wide network of organizations promoting health and well-being in school communities to improve learning and set students up for lifelong success.

    Indigenous Education Gathering - Save the Dates!

    The Manitoba Collaborative Indigenous Education Blueprint (MCIEB) will be hosting the second annual Indigenous Education Gathering on February 8 & 9, 2024 at the Victoria Inn & Conference Centre in Winnipeg. The gathering aims to bring together educators, students, community leaders, and advocates from diverse backgrounds for meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaborations on Indigenous education.

    Attendance is free, and breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days. Registration will open in early November.

    The Manitoba School Boards Association is a voluntary organization of public school boards in Manitoba. Its mission is to enhance the work of locally elected school boards through leadership, advocacy and service, and to champion the cause of public education for all students in Manitoba. The association offers a wide range of direct services to member boards, and provides a strong voice for the expression of their views and concerns.
