In the meantime, the existing resources are here to continue to support trustees. As education leaders in the community and as advocates for public education, effective school boards are committed to ongoing professional development. The leadership provided by both a board and individual trustees has a direct effect on the school division, its students and staff and, ultimately, the communities it serves.
As a result, trustees and local school boards have an exciting opportunity to impact the lives of citizens in their community: of children and youth directly, and of others indirectly. Most importantly, a board is responsible for ensuring local students receive the best kindergarten to grade 12 education possible.
