Manitoba School Boards Association is pleased to partner with Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba to offer a workshop on Treaty Education. This one-day workshop is designed to focus on providing school trustees, both new and experienced, with the fundamental knowledge of treaties and the call to action to ensure treaty education is part of K-12 education. As such, the event will be offered virtually to allow more trustees to participate.

 Program Overview

The session brings together leading voices in Treaty education—including Elders, advisors, and experts—to deepen understanding of Treaty history, strengthen relationships, and support longterm, sustainable approaches to teaching Treaties in schools.

Throughout the day, participants will explore the spirit and intent of Treaties, engage in interactive learning, and gain practical tools and strategies for implementing Treaty Education within their divisions. From foundational knowledge to collaborative planning, this training offers meaningful opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and action.

Whether you are new to Treaty Education or looking to expand your practice, this event provides valuable insights and inspiration to support your role as a trustee in helping to advance reconciliation through education.
