BE IT RESOLVED

Most school boards start thinking about possible resolutions to bring to convention when the call for resolutions goes out in early fall. But the right time to think of submitting a resolution is any time—whenever a matter comes to your board’s attention that has implications for other boards throughout the province. To help guide school boards through that process, we have developed a new resource, Be it resolved: A resolutions primer for Manitoba school boards.

The document outlines the different types of resolutions, provides tips on drafting your resolution, and contains important information about the timelines and processes related to resolutions coming before regional meetings and convention. So no need to wait for the next call for resolutions—your board can start thinking about and crafting its contribution now.
