If your spouse or child dies, this optional insurance provides a benefit to help reduce the financial obligations for funeral or other expenses.

• If your spouse dies, you receive a lump-sum benefit of $20,000.
• If a child dies, you receive $10,000.

To elect this coverage you must apply within 31 days of your date of employment or 90 days following your marriage, the birth or adoption of your first child, or the death of your spouse. If you apply outside of these timelines, your must provide proof your dependent's good health and coverage starts on the date Great-West Life approves this evidence.
