CHECKLIST
| Safety valves on boilers,
safety relief valves (pressuretemperature relief valves
on fired and electric hot water tanks) flushed and tested
manually on a regular basis. |
|
| Steam boiler low water
cut-offs and bottom drains blown down/tested regularly. |
|
| Boiler water tested
regularly and chemical treatment checked and adjusted as
required. |
|
| Air conditioning units
pumped down for season; chilled water exposed to freezing
temperatures drained. |
|
| Electrical room air filter
checked, rooms cleaned (not used as storage), transformer
cooling air grills clear. |
|
| During summer months:
boilers drained and cleaned as required, electrical
switchgear exercised to prove mechanical integrity and
connections checked tight. |
|
| During winter months: plan
to have air conditioning unit motor/ compressor units
overhauled, contactors (points) checked. |
|
| Check that no openings
exist that could cause freezing of water piping; check
insulation adequate, doors closed properly. |
