IMPORTANT NOTICE:Effective August 1, 2011, Eckler Ltd. will assume all responsibilty for general pension consulting, plan administration and retirement counseling for the Manitoba School Boards Association Pension Plan for Non-Teaching Employees which previously was with Mercer (Canada) Limited. With the change to Eckler, the role of the association office as first point of contact (other than for retirement counseling) will continue as always, first to Kelly Henderson or alternatively, Craig Wallis. New contact information for employees of the Plan: Plan Administration:Jonathan Itzkow (or Katherine Paul) Retirement Counseling:James Ralko Printed material such as member statements and employee booklets will be revised to reflect the new contact information. As the plan text is currently under revision, new employee booklets for all members will be distributed in 2012. Plan HistoryThe Manitoba School Boards Association Pension Plan for Non-Teaching Employees of Public School Boards in Manitoba is sponsored by the Manitoba School Boards Association and governed by a Board of Trustees, which includes representation from the Association, the Manitoba Association of School Business Officials, and employee groups. The Pension Plan is a defined contribution plan that originated in 1974. As of December 31, 2010, the Plan counted 8478 active and 2124 deferred members from 34 of Manitoba’s public school boards, and managed assets in excess of $331 million. |
